Miss Murphy, my muse, love her!! Her high fashion choice of dressing is awardably over the top, so fabulous!! She’s a perfect walking Vogue to me. What designer wouldn’t want their stuff on this coolest girl?
Anyway, It was a plan in my head to accessorize my model for RADENRORO Fall’09 lookbook with feather head dress because I’m a fanatic of Jamiroquai, musically and fashionly. Then I found that picture above of miss Murphy in that Jamiroquai-esque head dress, I thought to myself, holler…..!!! we’re totally separated at birth! Ha!! My point is that that idea I have in mind about the feather head dress is original!! Well, let’s hope I can execute the gorgeous head dress on time. I keep my fingers crossed .
So what would be Roisin Murphy-esque of RADENRORO?? It can be any pieces. The jeweled Sagita alpaca vest with pomegranate Saskia pants would be one look. I wore this vest with a tube top and Ajeng pants in Navy from Spring’09 collection, worked perfectly too!! This picture of Sagita vest here doesn’t its justice. The beautiful iridescent color of the beaded trimmings isn’t pictured right . I’ll put a pic of me wearing it soon!!
I noticed that miss Murphylicious also wears more subdued, easy breezy stuff, very simplicity. Sooo… I think Maniar dress here (in Taupe) would capture Murphy-esque style. Maniar dress is sexy but light and easy. It would flatter any types of body. The oversized sash falling down the hips is stating great fashion! So, ”If anything looks fabulous, it will, on”.
Sing It Back
Edie Sedgwick is the incomparable fashion legend. I can’t think of any other style icons who had the authentic and versatile style that she did. She’s MOD plus everything else. Her way of dressing is fashionably effortless. Every girl loves MOD style. The extra mini dresses, the strong bold defined eyedo, the black opaque tights, the knee high boots or the chunky platform, etc. Well, just don’t do it extravagantly! Pick only 1 to 2 elements of MOD style, if you do it too much you’ll look outdated or costumy. Halloween was just over, girls!!
Here’s my way to revamp MOD style…
Santi dress here is perfect for a modern MOD style. And yes, no need to back comb your hair, leave it natural ala Kate Moss so you can apply that MOD eyedo and look super chic. If you have short hair like moi, you can accessorize your hair with a black wide bandana/headband. You definitely need high heels (3″ to 4″) to look complete with this Santi dress. I think platform heels and black opaque tights rock with the Santi dress. Regular pointy pumps (with skinny heels ) would work too but without black tights, and if you go for more formal look.
FYI, Santi dress is the way to look fashionably SEXAAAEEE…!!!! The crossback straps I just loooove!! Straight sexy! The front pockets are adorably sexy! All in one dress!!
I love the coat that Darryl Hannah wears in Blade Runner (her wardrobe was so awesome in this movie). It inspired the making of Lestari coat. I love this Lestari coat because its length is just right for mini dresses, it’s shows legs (in those fabulous black tights)!! Edie wore this style of coat too in her chilly days, oversized style super soft faux fur coat (it has a drop shoulder style). It keeps you warm and stylish! Wheeew…!!!! ;)
Whether you’re Edie or not, when you’re ready, you can totally rock MOD style with RADENRORO!!
Oh Daphne Guinness…, she’s the sane version of Leigh Bowery . I adore this socialite and her quirkiness. I call her style “Punk Victorian”. What I mostly like about her style is that she mixes the hards with the delicates vigorously, like the claw metal rings with the ostrich shawl, the matador-style waist jacket with the flowy silk ruffly chiffon on the shirt and the skirt. I think it’s so strong rather beautiful. Just fierce all the way!!
Ready for the next one?
This Sarina dress (comes in deep rich purple, sage, black, and gray) is divine. It’s so royal chic. The fabric is supple silk velvet. The oversized ascot and the balloon sleeves are adorably superfluous. This picture doesn’t do the justice.
I wear semi-opaque tights and strappy patent leather platforms with this dress. I love hats so I would wear my vintage long-fur brimmed hat too. If it’s a little chilly out, I just grab my fur vest and I’m out the door. Little Miss Daphne! That’s totally haute!!
Kelly is definitely my style icon! Not only she’s gorgeous and in great shape, but she has the best taste, she’s smart, sucessful, sexy, super stylish, happily married, and she’s a mom!! While her styles are often so avant garde and editorial, she also dresses ala bohemian and street chic. Score!! Life is too short. Don’t make it boring! Always try something new and experiment with it!I would say Kelly and I have uncannily similar taste!! Some people mock me by calling me a mechanic or a plumber when I wear the very similar jumpsuit Kelly wears here. I just laugh it off and the next time I wear the jumpsuit I put on even higher heels with it. I’ve been told that my line is “not safe”. Not safe is good, I’m so glad that it’s not safe. Mission accomplished!! Safe is boring, women nowadays are more fashion forward and are fashion savvy. RADENRORO is not necessarily trendy but it’s always current, fashionable, and timeless!!
I think this Amara cape top is so unique and nothing else like it. The fabric is 100% silk georgette and beside coral color it comes in other colors as well, 3 jewel tones (berry, peacock, and eggplant) and cloud. I wear my eggplant one with my vintage jewelry such as my goldtone multi-strand chain necklace, single long necklaces and cuff bracelets (on both wrists), I also wear Amara in cloud with either a chrome or silver tone chain necklace, or I just mix all of them together. This top is so much fun! The pants are just so versatile. The pomegranate color ones go with anything! Any colors!
The pants come in jet black and platinum (metallic). I think the cloud Amara top would look great in all 3 colors of Saskia pants. I’m talking about these pieces here because I think Kelly Wearstler would wear these pieces in a heartbeat. Other pieces that I think would look fab on her is the Virana Top and the equestrian print Alamanda skirt.
These two pieces are LIMITED edition in this particular color and print. The pieces are also in RADENRORO’s Spring’09 collection in different colors and fabrics. They’re equally rocking!!
This Virana top is 100% silk crinkled chiffon. The tiered ruffle sleeves are soo cute. It kills me to say this but just because Marni is HUGE, I would say this top is sort of Marni-esque. I think the subdued color on this piece is so chic. The Alamanda skirt here is equestrian printed, and lined with soft silk fabric. The highwaisted corset style is very unique. The ruching on the waist and the ruffles make the skirt look and feel rich! Très magnifique!
Kelly even would do that frizzy hairdo too! I’ve seen her on the show with ginormous frizzy crimped hair!! Ahh… Kelly, she just does it so well! Head to toe!
Call me, Kelly… or Kelly’s stylist!
Another featured piece in Lucky (December issue). This Kumala dress with double ruffles on the collar and the cuffs is sooooo…”tuxedoish”!! I love how the it shapes the body, it elongates your leggies!!! Everytime I look at it, it sings out Gossip Girl . Serena, Blair, and Jenny know how to look sexy fun without showing any skin AT ALL! In fact, they look sexy-aristocratic! This Kumala dress is what they would lust after! This dress comes in several colors. Stores in LA, Miami, and Chicago loooove the coral, the berry, and the peacock color, I don’t blame them, the jewel tones are so sought after these days, and they make ever girl look fab. For me, I’m especially in lust with the cloud colored one. It’s just so New York! Well, when in New York… Ha!
I love to pair this dress with tights or fishnet. I don’t wear jewelry when I wear this dress since the ruffles already make the statement, instead I accessorize with jeweled platform heels and I’m all set!!
But when I want to look a bit masculinish (menswear style is so NOW!), I just put on my oxford style platforms or my solid-colored chunky pumps. One word! Chic!
Featured in Lucky (December issue), this Nirmala dress indeed is guilty for being fabulous and having some attitude. It has tons of pleats, its fabric is 100% silk georgette PLUS it has a cool visible metal zipper in the back!!! Just sublime…
The colors shown in the photo are inspired by the beauty of Bali. Nirmala also comes in another color way called Borneo, it’s for you girls who like more subdued hues.
The timeless piece is a great investment!! Enjoy!! <3 xx
